Mission #8: Pages 26 – 30
Mission #8: Pages 26 – 30
Down to the final stretch
Here we are, the last week of writing (before the editing begins). I know this sounds formulaic and some of you are mumbling to yourself that there is no way someone could write like this. Good point. This is where I remind you that this challenge is simply one way to go about it. This was my idea as a way to kick-start my lack of motivation. Everything always looks so great on paper (like when I first created this formula). Now, I look at the outline compared to where I am in my writing and I realize I’m not this kind of writer. But if I want that to reach that carrot (entering the Maggies), then I have to keep at it.
Here is where I tell you to stay strong and finish those 25 or 30 pages. I can do it. You can do it. They will get done. Just 3 weeks left until the deadline ends. Now, GET TO WORK!!!
I leave you with some great quotes!!!
The man who wins may have been counted out several times, but he didn’t hear the referee.Never quit or give up….never…..never give up.- H.E. Janson
Never let your head hang down.NEVER GIVE UP AND SIT DOWN AND GRIEVE.Find another way.- Satchel Paige
Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense- Winston Churchill
Never give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to handle the win with the dignity that we absorbed the loss.- Doug Williams
Never, never, never, never give up- Winston Churchill
And some great resources!!! Check out their writers pages for some awesome articles.

Tami,
You sound so positive! Those 3 weeks will be here before I blink. I have between 25 and 30 pages but I’m afraid they need some serious editing.
Loved the quotes and really appreciate the sites. You always come up with the neatest sites!

Tami,
I’m committed to the writing mission even though I can’t enter the Maggies this year.
I just want to thank you for putting up a blog each week to motivate and assist us in our writing efforts.
Good luck to everyone who will be submitting…I’ll be on pins and needles for each of you.

I’m ready to edit. I would like to quote from Galaxy Quest (though I respect Churchill a great deal): Never give up, never surrender!
Thanks, Tami!

Sorry I’m late–also a dollar short at least for what that’s worth. I have more than 40 pages, but my synopsis is in serious disarray. I’m scared of it, and I might need someone to come hold my hand while I try to make it spiffy. No takers? I suppose I’ll have to try this Leigh Michaels book and see if she has a new spin on how to make the synopsis more enjoyable than cleaning toilets.
Seriously, I’d rather clean my bathroom than write that thing.
Thanks for prodding me along.
