What you can Expect
Welcome to February!!!
One of the features we are spotlighting this year is a monthly challenge issued by each of our blog authors. Last month, I challenged our group to introduce the writing side of their lives by showing you where they write. I was really excited and impressed with the creativity of the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales authors AND our wonderful readers. There are tons of great ideas that were shared which both inspire creativity and make life easier for a writer when they finally get the time to sit down at their computers. I plan to “borrow” a few of those ideas for myself.
This month Nicki Salcedo has issued a challenge to create our own twists on the Fairy Tale stories. For example, someone might tell a tale where the Cinderella character is actually our hero. How fun would that be? Come back often this month to see where our authors’ creativity takes them.
Things to make note of on our NEW site!
Have you been wondering about the authors here at the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales? Well, wonder no more. You can see a picture of each of us on our “way cool” sidebar, as well as through our “About Us” page. You can click on each individual person to read a short BIO and some other neat facts about us.
This year we have changed our Guest Blogger day to Wednesdays. We have a terrific line-up of authors scheduled, as well as some editors and agents. If you want to read our Guest Blogger Archives, click on our “Guest Chef” icon located under out PF&HT banner. This page lists all of our Guest Bloggers by the name of the author.
Every Saturday we are featuring up to three different reviews on books, movies, television shows and songs in our “Saturday Reviews” section. We have also added an archive page for these so you can have a quick look-up reference on what titles we’ve already done over the past year. In an attempt to offer our readers a wide variety of reviews, we are combining our reviews with some from our friends at The Romance Dishreview site. THANK YOU PJ, Gannon, Buffie, and Andrea!!!
To make it easier for you to find, we’ve also created a “Free Reads” page that features our group novel, Aspen Expose’; the October Treasure Hunt short stories; the stories shared this month with our Fairy Tales theme; the new group novel we will bring you later in the year, Atlanta Expose’; and all the other Free stories we plan to bring you.
Every third Sunday we will introduce a new location to our readers in our “Travel the World in Words” section. This is where we will introduce different locations through a writer’s eyes.
On our sidebar there is a section called “Gift Ideas.” This is a great place to find neat gift ideas for both writers and readers. We will update this section periodically so be sure to check back often for new and creative gifts for that special person in your life (or even for yourself).
If you think you might want to be a Guest Chef, type up a Saturday Review, or contact us for anything at all, check out our “Contact Us” page. In addition to all the wonderful things we’ve already mentioned, we will have a spot where you can sign up for our quarterly newsletter that will feature what we will be bringing to the blog. Once we get this set up, you will be able to sign up here to receive these automatically to your e-mail address.
Finally, look at the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales picture on our right hand sidebar. Our fabulous blog designer (Alice Anderson) created several hot buttons for our readers to post on their blogs or websites. She created these with html codes to make it easy to copy into your pages. By adding these to your page, your readers can just click on the photos and this will take them to our blog automatically.
These are just a few of the neat features we’re offering right now and we have a ton of new things planned for 2010 that will be sprinkled into the blog throughout the year. So, what do you think so far? Anything you really liked or want to see more of? We’d love to hear your take on the new features!!!

Love the new site and can’t wait to see where we go this year.
I’ve just about finished by fairy tale rewrite for the 25th, so I can work on my goals for this year.
Of course, we couldn’t have done it without Tami Brothers, so hats off to you, girl!

Found myself thinking in terms of fairy tales this morning after I dropped kids off to school. Oh, wait! No kids at home today! I must already be in a Fairy Tale, lol.
