Collections, Hobbies and Clutter. Oh CRAP!

Looking for the PF&HT Recipe for Success Write-Off contest winner?  Stop by tomorrow when we officially announce the winner of the Chelsea Gilmore critique.     Collections, Hobbies and Clutter.  Oh CRAP!   By Tami Brothers   My son has always called my craft room, the crap room.  Maybe it’s because that’s the term my husband uses.  Or maybe because the room is always full of various half started craft projects scattered from one corner to the other.  Of course, I never thought my stuff was crap; until recently.    This year my family decided to take a long [...]

Messages From The Underwire

Boy Genius has had another brain wave and, for once, it doesn’t involve using me to lift heavy objects. He signed me up with a career counselor—a job title I can no longer type without my eye twitching. At the time, however, I didn’t know any better so I grinned like the idiot I am and thanked him. Later that week, I showed up at the woman’s office, sat underneath a poster of some poor kitten hanging off a tree branch, and waited. And waited. And waited. She showed up thirty minutes late, drinking Red Bull straight from the can [...]

How Do You Know If You Are Losing It?

By: Marilyn Baron Recently, my husband and I went out to dinner and a movie with our long-time friends. They are the kind of friends you don’t have to think around or worry about how you look or what you say. We like each other for who we are, just the way we are. After almost 37 years of marriage, my husband and I have the same relationship with each other. Comfortable. We went to a movie called “Another Year,” and left the theater feeling depressed. The movie was about a happy couple surrounded by unhappy and clinically depressed people. [...]

It’s Cherry Blossom Time in Macon!

The “pinkest party in town” can only mean one thing– Macon, Georgia’s Cherry Blossom Festival.  This year it goes from March 18 to 26.  Fountain Car Wash’s huge fountain out front has pink water.  The sidewalks in Macon are covered with painted pink cherry blossoms.  The free ice cream on Third Street is pink (cherry, of course).  Petals, the mascot, wears a pink poodle outfit.  Lacey, a poodle owned by Diane Walczok, is seen all over town and, of course, for a week, she has had her hair dyed pink!  And everyone wears pink!   Sound a little nauseating by now?  [...]
