Please join us in welcoming this week’s Guest Chef, historical author Emery Lee! CHARACTER ARCS AND SECOND CHANCES FORTUNE’S SON is an atypical love story. It is about second chances and redemption, and chronicles a long and rocky road to true love between two very flawed characters. It is also a story that I never intentionally set out to write. When I finished THE HIGHEST STAKES I had a completely different book in my head. I was going to bring THS full circle with Philip Drake’s bastard son and Robert and Charlotte’s American born daughter [...]

Please join us in welcoming this week’s Guest Chef, Kaitlin O’Riley. Acclaimed author Kaitlin O’Riley fell in love with historical romance novels when she was just fourteen years old, and shortly thereafter she began writing her own stories in spiral notebooks. Fortunately for her, none of those early efforts survive today. She is still an avid reader and can often be found curled up on a sofa with a book in her hands. Kaitlin grew up in New Jersey, but now she lives in sunny Southern California, where she is busy writing her next book. The Romance of Christmas [...]

Please join us in welcoming author Jenna Petersen as this week’s Guest Chef. Jenna writes historical romance as Jenna Petersen, and erotic romance as Jess Michaels. She also hosts the popular website The Passionate Pen. 1+1X1million = Crazy It seemed like a really good idea at the time. I made the decision to independently publish this year for a variety of reasons. One was that I wanted to get work out at a shorter rate than one book every 9 months (which was NEVER my choice). So when I decided to do the big leap and indie pub, I knew I [...]

Since I sold my first book in January of this year, THE DOCTOR’S MISSION, I’ve been treated differently by a lot of people. Well, okay, not by my kids, they still expect dinner, lunch money, a babysitter for their children, and all that other mom stuff. Alright, not by my husband who still expects three meals a day, a clean house (LOLOLOL), and someone who caters to his needs when he returns home from Zumba. Sheesh! And not by my close friends who are all bored with the whole “my new book” thing. Hmm. Maybe I’m delusional about this idea [...]
